I meant to post this online last week but I totally forgot. Bad blogger. *slaps wrist*
The moment for this particular week came from GSN Live last Friday, April 10th towards the end of the 12:30 half-hour. I’m sure you’ve probably seen it by now, but if you haven’t, you’re in for some hilarity.
While I think Fred handles himself rather decently on this show, I’ve never been a huge fan of his nor have I found him to be a favorite. But there’s something about this clip. Something about it, the way he reacts to the contestant’s language. From the “no-no-no” to “Denise, for the love of God, pick a consonant!” I swear, from now on every time I see someone on Wheel of Fortune playing badly, I will think of this moment. This is just too funny. And what I love is that I’m sure this isn’t the only time he was at least thinking it, and honestly, I’m in the same boat. While I haven’t gotten EVERY SINGLE answer right with these play along games, for me, 99.999% of them are pretty easy enough to get rather quickly, so sometimes it seriously boggles me when someone doesn’t get something.
And well, obviously, be warned. If you haven’t seen it, it contains a naughty word. Which starts with the letter S and ends with “hit.”

GSN: 12 Games of Christmas
Looks like GSN is spreading holiday cheer by getting some great oldies out of the vault! All through December, 12 different classics will air on 12 different days, from 1 to 3 PM eastern during the GSN Live block!
The schedule is like this:
December 8th: Card Sharks (CBS 1986-89; Christmas shows from 1986)
December 9th: Beat the Clock (CBS 1979-80; Christmas shows from 1979)
December 10th: Family Feud (CBS 1988-94; DAYTIME Christmas shows from 1991)
December 11th: Super Password (NBC 1984-89; Christmas shows from 1984)
December 12th: To Tell The Truth (NBC 1990-91; Christmas shows from 1990)
December 15th: Press Your Luck (CBS 1983-86; Christmas shows from 1984)
December 16th: Match Game (CBS 1973-79; Christmas shows from 1973, 1976, and 1977)
December 17th: Card Sharks (NBC 1978-81; Christmas shows from 1978)
December 18th: Family Feud (ABC 1976-85; Christmas shows from 1978)

This is all so awesome, really looking forward to this. I really like that we’ll be seeing a different show each day. And it’s been quite a while since shows like classic To Tell The Truth, Body Language, and one of the 1980’s versions of Card Sharks have been on in the daytime. And daytime Combs Feud! This has not been seen on GSN at all lately. I know there are people like me who hate that GSN always seemed to skip some of these episodes, like the ones of Truth, and not even air them during the holidays; so it’s great to finally get to see them. And for oldie fans, I think this is a great way to make up for the pretty lackluster Thanksgiving stunts.

GSN Live: Premiere
As of today, GSN’s now attempting another call-in interactive show where viewers can win prizes, but this time it all happens during some of their favorite classic game shows, from Noon-3 PM, all on GSN Live!
I guess in one way I really misinterpreted this show. The biggest problem I have with it already is that there isn’t enough of it. I was under the impression that this show would be on during EVERY commercial break and have one or two sponsors… or if not, we’d see more of the show than we have.
I probably should have figured they wouldn’t be on that much since they said that tried during rehearsals and they weren’t able to do interviews during the show. They said they’d have to cut one of the shows to make something like that possible. Too bad the show wasn’t going into the 3 PM hour. A bit of a disappointment, since I really was looking forward to seeing Wink Martindale being interviewed. However, the good news is that GSN’s airing the week of Password Plus where both he and Gene Rayburn are featured. And if that’s not good enough for you, Wink will be in the studio on Friday! That was a very good week for Password Plus. Good game play and one very memorable moment. Of course, it’s the one where someone in the control room at NBC made a MAJOR boo-boo and managed to erase an entire segment of an episode! But don’t worry, Gene, Wink, and Tom are ready in different clothes to recap the round.
It’s nice seeing Heidi Bohay back on a series again. Save for a recent infomercial, I’m most familiar with her appearances on $100,000 Pyramid in the 1980’s, and the late ‘90’s TV version of Better Homes & Gardens, with her husband Michael Spound. I’ve always wanted to see her in Hotel, but I haven’t had the chance yet. I’m not all that familiar with Fred Roggin. He’s a local California TV personality, but so far I think he’s doing a pretty good job on GSN Live.
The set is nice. It feels a lot like a daytime show should; very nice and comfy looking. The volume is just right. I hate over-energetic hosts who scream everything, and that’s not found here. I also like that there isn’t a bunch of garbage all over the screen during the shows.
